Privacy Policy for Period Share
Last Updated: April 23, 2025
At Period Share, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use the Period Share mobile application (“App”). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. About Period Share
Period Share allows users to track menstrual cycles and share this data securely with someone they trust. Users can choose to share their cycle data, follow someone else’s cycle data, or both. The App integrates with Apple Health to fetch cycle data and offers premium widgets for followers to view cycle updates on their home screen.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Menstrual Cycle Data: If you integrate the App with Apple Health, we fetch cycle-related data such as cycle start dates, phases, and duration. This data is tied only to your device’s unique identifier (UUID) and is anonymized—no personally identifiable information is collected.
- Shared Data: If you choose to share your cycle data with another user, that data is sent to their device via a secure link or invitation and is stored on our servers to facilitate sharing. We use industry-standard security measures to protect this data.
- Usage Data: We may collect anonymized usage data, such as how often you open the App or use widgets, to improve the App’s performance. This data does not identify you.
- Payment Information: If you subscribe to premium widgets, payment is processed through your Apple ID via the App Store. We do not collect or store your payment details.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Enable tracking and sharing of menstrual cycle data within the App.
- Display cycle updates in premium widgets for users who follow someone’s cycle.
- Improve the App’s functionality and user experience through anonymized usage data.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your cycle data is stored locally on your device and tied to your device’s UUID, ensuring it remains anonymized. We do not store your data on our servers. When you share cycle data with another user, it is transmitted securely, but you are responsible for ensuring the recipient is trustworthy. We use industry-standard security measures to protect data during transmission, but no method is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Sharing Your Information
We do not share your information with third parties, except in the following cases:
- User-Initiated Sharing: If you choose to share your cycle data with another user, that data is sent to their device. We do not retain a copy.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to comply with a legal process, such as a court order.
- Service Providers: We may use third-party services (e.g., analytics providers) to process anonymized usage data on our behalf. These providers are bound by confidentiality agreements.
6. Apple Health Integration
The App integrates with Apple Health to fetch menstrual cycle data, with your explicit permission. We do not share this data with third parties, and it remains on your device unless you choose to share it with another user through the App.
7. Children’s Privacy
The App is not intended for users under 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we learn that such data has been collected, we will delete it promptly.
8. Your Rights and Choices
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access and Delete: Since data is stored locally on your device, you can access or delete it by managing your device settings or uninstalling the App.
- Apple Health Permissions: You can revoke Apple Health permissions at any time through your device’s settings.
- Opt-Out of Sharing: You can stop sharing your cycle data with another user at any time by revoking their access in the App.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted in the App Store and within the App. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
